At Butterfly Room Counseling & Wellness, I believe that everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. My counseling services are designed to help clients unlock their potential and empower them to be their happiest selves.
I offer individual and family therapy for a wide range of ages and demographics. I tailor my treatment for each client depending on their needs and goals, allowing me to meet them where they're at in their healing journeys. In addition to traditional talk therapy techniques, I also have training using other modalities such as play therapy, sand tray, and expressive art.
I take a holistic approach to counseling, focusing on involving client's family members and/or support system as much as possible. Change is difficult and the best progress is made when the client feels supported and the whole family unit makes changes alongside them.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Boise, ID. I love what I do and feel honored to hear my client's stories and support and empower them as they grow and heal. While I see clients of various ages, my truest passion is working with kids and their families. I also have experience working with neurodivergent individuals of all ages, which includes clients with diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism (ASD), OCD, or a combination of the three. I have worked with families to provide parenting strategies tailored to their child's struggles and needs as well as supporting adult clients manage their symptoms and encourage them to reach their goals, regardless of the challenges they face.

While from the outside, it may appear like the child is "just playing" during their counseling sessions, a lot more is going on than meets the eye! Play is how children communicate and process the world around them, so using the language they know in a therapeutic space can facilitate growth in a variety of areas. Play therapy additionally gives the child a safe space to learn new skills and "play out" experiences and emotions.

I view the family unit like a clock. Every member represents a different cog or part of the clock with various roles and responsibilities. For the clock to work properly, all of the pieces must be doing their part. The same concept can be applied to counseling. The best change and growth can be made when the entire family unit, or "clock," is involved in treatment and willing to make changes.

Expressive art includes interventions and activities utilizing painting, drawing, storytelling, clay, etc. to facilitate emotional processing and expression. For a variety of clients, utilizing alternative methods apart from traditional talk therapy can be less intimidating to be vulnerable and allow them to express themselves more openly and facilitate deeper processing.
